dawn wong and astrid lim's great swimming escapade.
i am so pooped now. but i shall trudge on in my courageous quest of typing out todays blog entry.
i forced myself out of bed at 8 am. i woke up from the sound of my alarm and astrids smses, COMBINED. met astrid at chinese garden mrt station at 10nish and we walked to jurong east swimming complex. it was a long, long walk. but it was worth it, the place was huge.
astrid and i stupidly locked all our valuables ( wallets, camera, hanphones, etc.) in a locker and proceeded to rent our floats, then we realised all our money was in the locker, haha. we had to walk back and get them.
floated around on the lazy river. it needs time and practice to sucessfully climb on your float in a raging current. seriously it was damn strong. i took forever to get out. the wave pool was awsome. we floated out to the center and drifted along on the waves. astrid was obsessed about tanning.
we then played with the slides and went to the competition pool to swim. astrid wanted to get one of those tanning deck chair thing but they were all occupied, by guys! all of them. i didnt know guys liked to tan, i though girls did. any way, i still got darker without lying in the sun on a chair. water does things to light and its easier to get darker.
i insisted on showering cos i didnt want to smell like chlorine all afternoon but astrid didnt bring soap and stuff. she is the quickest showerer i have come across. by the time i steped into the cubicle and was about to take out my towel, astrid was already done.
we walked back to the mrt station and mrtied to jurong point to eat. then we went round looking at stuff. i wanted to buy a new walled from thrity seven degrees for jiap as there was this big sign outside which said 50% off. then i read the small print-not for pencil cases and wallets. sheesh. couldnt find johnathans pokemon game. i am going to get a super mario game. i must have one.
went to look at this sports shop where astrid found her dream swim suit. speedo. i though speedo was expensive but it costs less than my arena one. i seriously need new goggles, i was partially blind today at the pool and water keeps getting into my tyrs. its pronouncced tier. astrid doesnt believe me. then we walked to the interchange and parted ways. i had to long ride home and here i am, tired as hell, legs aching, tanlines all over, hair dry and sticking out and skin so dry that you can play tic-tac-toe on my legs with your fingers, but i still had an awsome, kickass day.
